The building of the synagogue arose in place of the treadmill that had been devoured by flames in Nachmanowicz received the permission on 24 March 24 Dodatek do Kurjera Lwowskiego. Constructed in , the building was small, and almost a perfect square in plan. It consisted only of a men's prayer hall, with a small adjacent building from the West side, with a porch and a counsel-parlor. Nachmanowicz started the construction of the synagogue without prior permission from the Roman Catholic clergy, which later caused him problems.
